I never wanted to fully put my face on the brand, but I think having that personal attachment to Bobo Academy was important. We got emails from people saying they came out to their families in the shirt they bought from us… people from as far as Osaka.
A big part of it was when I came out to my family–it was super hard, so the fact that we’re playing a role in making it easier for other people to come out is pretty cool. If you took our annual gross for 2 years, and ranked it against just one person getting the confidence to come out–I don’t even care about the money. It’s so amazing.
